A General Dentist or primary care dental provider is a dentist who diagnoses, treats, and manages your overall oral health care needs. They perform oral treatments including oral prophylaxis, teeth polishing, fillings or restorations, root canals (front teeth as per council guidelines), simple extractions and fixing single unit prosthetics and work with clinical staffs to provide quality patient treatments. Educate patients on preventive dental care and oral health care is another important role played by general dentist. Apply sealants to teeth and bleach the teeth for color restoration. Treat teeth malformations, gum injuries and other oral abnormalities.

Well versed in operating x-rays and diagnostic equipment effectively to examine teeth and gums. Evaluate patient’s dental health and prescribe medications. Refer patients to appropriate specialists when needed.

FILLINGS

ROOT CANAL (SINGLE)

FLUORIDE TREATMENT

Fluoride treatment is done on children's teeth as preventive measure to protect teeth from caries. It only takes a few minutes to apply. The kid may be asked to avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes after the treatment so that the applied fluoride can be fully absorb.

SIMPLE EXTRACTIONS

A simple tooth extraction involves the removal of a tooth that is visible in the mouth. This could mean removing a badly damaged or decayed tooth, or removing teeth prior to getting braces. General dentists can do simple tooth extractions.

XRAYS

Dental X-rays (radiographs) are images of your teeth that your dentist uses to evaluate your oral health. These X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. This can help your dentist to identify problems, like cavities, tooth decay, and impacted teeth.
